EMPTINESS AND FULLNESS : A
day with Akther Ahsen
“Having emptied out all false notions of Self and
recognized one’s true nature to be Intrinsic Spirit
– formless, timeless and limitless, you, as embodied
being necessarily emerge from Primordial Emptiness and reenter
the world of form. Informed by this new realization, you
natural talents, dispositions and enlightened potentials
combine and bring forth a unique expression embodying the
fullness of Being in serving the highest values of humanity.
With these thoughts in my mind I welcome you to a wonderful
day long experience with Akhter Ahsen”
Richard Sussman
Buddhism focuses on emptying the mind for achieving enlightenment.
Directly opposite to this teaching, Hinduism focuses on
embodying the fullness of consciousness apparently, towards
the same aim. Emptiness and fullness sound as if they are
two separate dynamics in consciousness. In reality, they
are the same.
Those on a spiritual path often think of their consciousness
as something that needs to be purified and cleansed. One
way to look at is as a pure fullness that sprouts effulgently
from the depths of one’s being moving them towards
action in the world.
All religious traditions are, in essence concerned with
the notion of both emptiness and fullness in their own unique
way. When religious traditions forget to recognize this
parallel, they become conventional and loose their essential
relationship to the divine base of consciousness.
This workshop will focus on the Buddhist emptiness and
Hinduism’s fullness as they come together through
an in depth look into the Jewish, Christian and Muslim traditions,
not only, for personal enlightenment but, as a potent agent
of transformation and participation in the world as a process.
Dr. Ahsen will lead participants in both didactic and experiential
imagery exercises throughout the day. This day will illuminate
the deep union of all religious traditions, as well as transform
one’s personal consciousness. The participants will
experience their own pure empty and effulgent states of
being.
ABOUT AKHTER AHSEN:
Akhter Ahsen, Ph.D. is the founder of Eidetic Imagery,
a cutting edge and innovative field in modern psychology.
His work since the early 50’s makes him the principal
theorist in the field of imagery-based techniques and programs
for personal growth.
In the mid 1970’s the International Imagery Association
was formed by Dr. Ahsen to serve as a forum for the study
of images and Eidetic Imagery, in the complex background
of cultural, psychological, social and political issues.
Dr. Ahsen also started the Journal of Mental Imagery as
an international forum for imagery research. For more than
two decades the Journal has been the only forum for original
and creative research on mental imagery. Under the editorship
of Dr. Ahsen, and its distinguished editorial board, the
Journal has received acclaim around the world from researchers,
theoreticians, and clinicians interested in mental imagery.
To date Dr. Ahsen has authored more than 30 books and has
written numerous articles. He is also a Fellow of the American
Psychological Association and the American Psychological
Society.

Return to Natural Sensuality with
Jacqueline Sussman on Full Power Living
Jacqueline Sussman says "we are a civilization of people
hungry for sensual love while drowning in an ocean of sexual
frenzy. Never before have so many women and men been so
sexually fixated and emotionally unfulfilled." The
pornographic quality of the sex being marketed to us by
every medium conflicts with the true nature of our sensuality.
She's telling Full Power Living listeners how to use Eidetic
Imagery to return to natural sensuality. 9 a.m. (PT), Thursday,
July 6, 2006 on Ilene Dillon's Full
Power Living Radio Show on World Talk Radio.
